Leona M. Glubka, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following complications due to surgery. Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation, Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Linda Hansen Bibb. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery, Winona, Minnesota.
Survivors include six sons, Roger (Michelle) of El Paso, Texas, Steven (Kris Glass) of Winona, Minnesota, and Frank (Denise), James (Rosemary), Rodney (Becky) and Bob (Kandy), all of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Wanda Brouwer of Cedar Rapids; twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vi Benicke of Stockton, Minnesota, Gracie (Roger) Lee of Wabasha, Minnesota, and Marilyn (Garlan) Polus of Winona, Minnesota; and a brother, Chuck (Norma) Loth of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Franklin; a sister, Stella Carroll; and a brother, Larry Loth.
Born December 21, 1926, in Winona, Minnesota, to Oscar and Helen Paul Loth, she married Franklin Louis Glubka, Sr., on February 25, 1944, in Decorah, Iowa. He died August 21, 1997. She worked for K-Mart in Cedar Rapids for twenty-two years, until she retired. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Leona enjoyed family gatherings and gambling. She was a loving and dedicated mom and grandma.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
