Libby Georgia (Machacek) Dalecky

Libby G. Dalecky, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Rev. Randy Scheil. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Donna) Dalecky and Gary Dalecky, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Abigail (Roy) DeWitt of Cedar Rapids; great grandchildren, Drew, Alex, Gavin, and Levi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Dalecky; and siblings, Ed (Anna) Machacek, and Mary (Delmar) Hocken.
Libby was born on September 13, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Frank and Anna (Nekous) Machacek. She married Joseph on March 4, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. He later died on January 7, 2007. Libby worked as a telephone operator and also at a garden shop. She loved crafts, gardening roses were her pride, crocheting, listening to Polka music on Sunday mornings, dancing, baking and was a great cook. Libby was a member of the Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.
