Lila Mae Dvorsky, 76, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, following a 20-year battle with multiple cancers, at St. Luke’s Transitional Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Church in Marion, where an additional one-hour visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed at https://youtube.com/live/Qf0ruCPXLJM?feature=share beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Lila was born on November 11, 1949, in Antelope, Nebraska, the daughter of Conrad and Alvina (Sandman) Grundmeyer. She was a graduate of Volga High School and went on to graduate from Young’s School of Beauty. On July 26, 1969, Lila was united in marriage to Vernon A. Dvorsky in Volga, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1994. She made a home for her family and raised her children, while also working as a beautician at Killian’s Department Store, and later in retail at Target and Sears.

She was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, where she also participated in the Women’s Connection. Lila enjoyed sewing and going to garage sales, always in search of a good bargain. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lila is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Tammy Hansen, Mark (Niki) Dvorsky, Trisha Dvorsky, and Kelly Snitkey, all of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Cody (Miranda) Hansen, Tyler Hansen (fiancé, Allie), Halley Dvorsky (Anthony Keith), Asher Dvorsky, Kian Weimer (Rachel), Hannah Snitkey, and Brennan Snitkey; one great-grandson, Zayden Keith; four sisters, Sheryl (Joe) Hammel of Ossian, Iowa, Jane (Bob) Groth of Garber, Iowa, Mary (Sharm) Samuelson of South Carolina, and Julie Grundmeyer of Des Moines, Iowa; sister-in-law, Julie (Ray) Grundmeyer-Sandhagen of Edgewood, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Dvorsky; brother, Dale Grundmeyer; and nephew, Scott Schara.

A memorial fund has been established.
