Linda Diane Horning

Linda Diane Horning, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Horseshoe Falls Lodge at Pinicon Ridge Park in Central City, Iowa.

Linda was born on June 18, 1950, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Hasler) Edwards. She was a 1968 graduate of Central City High School and went on to attend St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids. On January 22, 1971, Linda was united in marriage to Ellis “Jack” Horning in Cedar Rapids, until his death on November 13, 2006. She worked as an LPN at the Abbe Center for over 30 years, until her retirement. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Mindy (Chad) Bascom of Cedar Rapids, and Amy Throgmartin of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Cierra, Serena (Josue), Alexis, Delaney, Jaylon, Lillyan, and Kinnick; and five great-grandchildren, Amelia, Remi, Antonio, Elías, and Evelisse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and two brothers, Gary and Darryl Edwards.
