Linda J. Soukup (Hill)
October 25, 1945 — August 4, 2009
Linda J. Soukup, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died gracefully after a long courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at her home. Memorial Visitation: 2-6 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two sons, Leslie Soukup (Martha Krecioch) and Lonnie (Tami) Soukup, both of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Lisa (Billy) Lingo of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Jason, Sue, Dustin, Tabatha, Jennifer, John and Cody; and two great-grandsons, Dakota and Jackson.
Also surviving are a brother, Jimmy (Rita) Hill of Illinois; and three sisters, Mary Harlan of Missouri, Sandi and Cookie; and nieces, nephews and cousins; and her friends Sharon Knoke, Judy Kennedy, D.J. Lawless, and many more.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry; and a grandson, Tommy Lee.
Linda was born October 25, 1945, the daughter of James and Helen (Summers) Hill in Union Hill, Missouri. She worked at Rockwell Collins for 33 years as an inspector before retiring in 2002.
Linda’s life was her family and her dog, Betsey.
