Linda Lou Veal, 49, of 79 Partridge Avenue, died Friday, February 16, 2007, in her home after a courageous battle with Scleroderma. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2007, at Faith Lutheran Church in Marion, by Rev. John Albertson. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Doug; two daughters, Amy Michelle Veal and Melissa Anne Veal; her parents Willard and ElizabethSperry of Marion; and a brother, Jeffery and wife Pat Sperry of Marion.
Linda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ben and Marie Wilhelm and her paternal grandparents, Glenn and Charlotte Sperry.
Linda was born the daughter of Willard and Elizabeth (Wilhelm) Sperry on February 16, 1958, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Marion High School in 1976. On September 11, 1982, in Marion, she was united in marriage to Douglas Alan Veal. Linda worked in the insurance business for over thirty years, the last eight years at United Fire and Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marion.
Linda enjoyed reading, traveling, antique collecting and spending time with her family.
