Linda A. Williams, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa. A private family service will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family with arrangements.
Linda was born on February 4, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas and Annie (Brooks) Williams. She served in the United States Army. Linda was an exceptional cook; especially greens and cornbread. She loved to travel and get dressed up for any occasion. Linda had a beautiful, nurturing soul with a caring heart for everyone.
Survivors include her children, Mark Williams of Cedar Rapids, Antoinette (Frederick) Pratcher of Memphis, Ernest Sanders, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shinita Wells, Ebony Wells, and Erica Toney, all of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Thomas Williams, Jr., and Wanda Green, both of Memphis; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as dear friend, Rebecca Townsel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Annie Williams; and siblings, Henry Williams, Walter Williams, Shirley (Williams) Perkins, James Williams and Roland Williams.
