Lisa Marie Donley, 60, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after unexpected medical complications. Though her time here ended far too soon, the love she shared with her family and friends will live on forever.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Urbana Memorial Cemetery in Urbana, Iowa.
Lisa was born on May 1, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Joseph and Janet (Urban) Bolsinger. She graduated from Marion High School in 1984, before attending Hamilton Business College. On May 25, 2019, she married the love of her life, Lyle Dean Donley, in Toddville, Iowa. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Lisa dedicated her life to caring for others through a long and meaningful career in the medical field. She began at St. Luke’s Hospital as a transcriptionist and went on to work at Iowa Blood and Cancer Care in Cedar Rapids, Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Jefferson City Medical Group in Missouri, and most recently, at the University of Iowa. Her compassion, professionalism, and strong work ethic earned the respect of her coworkers and the gratitude of countless patients and families throughout the years.
Outside of work, Lisa found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved knitting, caring for her houseplants, shopping for shoes and purses, and listening to her favorite 1980’s music. She had an incredible knack for finding the best bargains, especially while browsing Facebook Marketplace, and always enjoyed sharing her latest great find with family and friends. Her warm smile, infectious laugh, generous heart, and caring spirit made everyone around her feel welcome and loved.
Above all else, Lisa’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving daughter, a caring sister, a proud mother, a one-of-a-kind aunt, and an adoring grandmother. She celebrated every accomplishment, offered comfort during difficult times, and loved unconditionally. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Lyle Donley; her mother, Janet Bolsinger of Marion; her children, Jamison (Shawn) Bolsinger of Cedar Rapids, Brandon Wright of Texas, John Donley of Illinois, and Rollie Donley of Missouri; her cherished grandchildren, Brycen Wright and Nora Bolsinger; her sister, Rene Bolsinger of Marion; her niece, Adriana Bolsinger of Marion; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Bolsinger.
Lisa’s absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her love, kindness, and beautiful spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to guide and comfort her family every day.
