Lisa Ann Kirk, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A Private Celebration of Life for the family is being planned, and a Private Committal will take place at a later date.
Lisa was born on September 12, 1963, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Loren and Shirley (Mantz) Witte. She was a 1981 graduate of Prairie High School. On August 7, 1982, Lisa was united in marriage to Michael “Mike” Allen Kirk at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
Lisa dedicated 36 remarkable years of service as the Administrative Assistant at St. Luke’s Birthcare Center in Cedar Rapids, until her recent retirement in 2026. She was known for her kindness, attention to detail, and gentle spirit in all her professional interactions. Her colleagues and the many families who came through the Birthcare Center benefited from her caring nature over the decades.
Beyond her career, Lisa found great joy in simple pleasures and special moments. She cherished her time spent at Bobber's Campground, where laughter and many treasured memories were made. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes; she took delight exploring the aisles at Ulta, Target, Home Goods, and Hobby Lobby, always finding small joys in discovering something new for herself or loved ones.
Above all else, Lisa was devoted to her family. Her three granddaughters were the light of her life and being their ‘Gigi’ was her proudest accomplishment. She spoke of them often, her eyes bright with pride and affection, and found immeasurable joy in watching them grow. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lisa is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Mike Kirk; two sons, Troy (Amy) Kirk of Ely, Iowa, and Tyler Kirk of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters, Addie, Wrenly, and Kyra Kirk; mother, Shirley Witte of Hiawatha, Iowa; three sisters, Christi (Brian) Uitermarkt of Riverside, Iowa, Vicki (Paul) Snip of Anamosa, Iowa, and Jenni (Kevin) Alderman of Denver, Colorado; father-in-law, Bill Kirk of Anamosa; special friends, Taylor Bennett and Lyndsey Kline; and Lisa’s precious puppies, Charlie and Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Loren Witte; mother-in-law, Pat Kirk; and two beloved dogs, her labs, Kinnick and Sadie.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kathie Manderscheid, Denise Cook, and to all her coworkers at the Birthcare Center, whom she loved dearly, for all their love, care, and support.
