Marcia K. David

Marcia K. David, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at her home. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Marcia was born May 20, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Varge and Helen (Potter) Harris. She graduated from McKinley High School with the Class of 1957. Following graduation, Marcia began her career with the Linn County Friend of Court before going on to work for the Linn County Auditor’s Office. Even after retirement, she continued working, taking a position with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. In 1972, Marcia married Richard George David.

Marcia was an active member of the Cedar Rapids Fraternal Order of Eagles #2272, the Elks Lodge #251, where she served as Exalted Ruler, and the Cedar Rapids Moose Lodge #304/515. She especially enjoyed singing karaoke with her husband, Rich. Rich proudly proclaimed that Marcia was the best karaoke singer in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Rich David of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Lori Huston of Cedar Rapids and Michele (Bruce) Heiken of Lisbon, Iowa; stepchildren, Theresa Mason of Collierville, Tennessee, Brent (Suzan) David of Memphis, Tennessee, and Paul (Geri) David of Atkins, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carole Farnsworth of Cedar Rapids and Julie (Bob) Harrelson of Hiawatha, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Harris; and brother-in-law, Bob Farnsworth.
