Margaret Mary "Peg? Bliss, 88, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, died there Sunday, April 9, 2006, following a short illness. Services: 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion by Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Lennox Cemetery, Iowa County, Iowa.
Survivors include a son, Donald Duane (Maxine) Bliss of Marion; a daughter, Joan "Jody? (Tom) Leso of Berryville, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Dean, Sandra, Daniel, Sue, David, Sara, Mary Jo, Stephanie and Barbara; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; great-granddaughter, Rowan; a sister; and four brothers.
Margaret was born May 4, 1917, the daughter of Clem and Mary Johnson Robison in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She was a graduate of Central City High School in 1936. On November 15, 1937, she was united in marriage to Albert J. Bliss in Central City, Iowa. Albert died September 2, 1988. Margaret was last employed at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids in food service. She retired in 1986. Margaret was a member of St. Paul?s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.
