Margaret J. Rasmussen, 94, formerly of Marion, and a resident of Waukesha Springs Health & Rehab Center, Waukesha, Wisconsin, died there Friday May 12, 2006, after a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, by Father John Gossman. The family will greet friends one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.

Survivors include a sister, Helen Rowley of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Also surviving are 2 nephews, John Rasmussen of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Donald Dippel of Marion, Iowa; a niece, Mari (Thomas) Dougherty of Waukesha, Wisconsin; a great-niece, Maggie Cossman of Lynchburg, Virginia; and a great-nephew Andrew Dougherty of Chicago, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Fred Rasmussen; and a sister Clara Dippel.

Margaret was born March 4, 1912, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (McCann) Rasmussen. She was a social worker for the state of Iowa for many years.
