Marguerite "Riki" Packingham

Marguerite “Riki” Packingham, 93, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.

Riki was born February 14, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Jerry and Ruby (Jenks) Whittington. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1951 and later attended barber college in Cedar Rapids. Riki enjoyed a successful career as a barber and stylist, eventually opening and operating her own salon, Mister Perfect, where she worked until her retirement. She was married to Kenneth H. Packingham for 43 years before the couple divorced.

In her younger years, Riki enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places. Following her retirement, she moved to Arizona with her sister, Shirley, where she enjoyed spending her time golfing and playing bridge. Throughout her life, Riki had a special love for animals.

Survivors include her son, Trent (Dawn) Packingham; daughter-in-law, Courtney Packingham; grandchildren, Stephanie (Luke) Burgess, Kohl Packingham, Angela (Chad) French, Dane Packingham, Pamela (Benjamin) Keel, Garet Packingham, and Toni (Mitchell) Thompson; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kurt Packingham; her parents; two sisters; and a great-grandson.
