Marietta Jane (Kuehler) Kummerfeldt, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Service and reception will take place at 1 p.m. on January 14, 2022, at Center Point United Methodist Church, 275 Green Street W, Center Point, Iowa, with a visitation one hour prior.
Marietta was born September 30, 1941, in Crofton, Nebraska, to Henry John and Hildagard Monica (Feldhacker) Kuehler. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1959. Marietta married Melvin Leroy Kummerfeldt on August 25th 1959 in Spencer, Iowa. She was a homemaker and mother and worked as a cashier in the McKinley Cafeteria from 1974 until 1991. Marietta enjoyed baking, trips with family and friends, playing bingo, cards and computer games and going to the casinos.
Marietta is survived by her husband, Melvin, five sons, John (Shari), Mike (Laurie), David (Vickie), Robert (Polly), and Mark; ten grandchildren, T.J., Becca, James, Kyle, Tamra, Adam, Matthew, Sarah, Gabby, and Lauren; three great grandchildren, Quinton, Kayden and Nevaeh; sisters, Gerri and Doris (Bill); brothers, Dick (Marcia) and Tim (Amy); sisters-in-law, Loretta, Gail, and Fern; and many special friends. Marietta was a friend of Lois’s for many years.
Marietta was preceded in death by her infant son, James Carl; brother, Ron; her parents and in-laws, along with many aunts and uncles.
