Marion Cruise, 79, of Central City, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Marion was born June 27, 1939, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Wallace and Josephine (Poppe) Cruise. He married Rena VanDyke. Marion was a longtime union carpenter. He was an avid fisherman and a huge Cubs fan.
Marion is survived by his wife, Rena of Central City; children, Connie (Gary) Swartz of Cedar Rapids and Jim Cruise of Central City; four grandchildren, Shelby, Hunter, Monica and Gabrielle; brother, Joe (Mary) Cruise of Scotch Grove; and sister, Karen (Mark) Intlekofer of Maquoketa.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara; parents; and two brothers, Don and Lavern.
