Marion R. Morehouse, 88, of Lake Worth, Texas, formerly of Marion, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at Lake Worth Nursing Home, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation in Marion by Rev. Dave Loy. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Lawless of Dallas, Texas; a son, Rick Morehouse of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Robin, Ann, Chris, Mary, Kathleen and Nick; fifteen great-grandchildren, Destiny, Melissa, Jessica, Jason, Jonathan, Megan, Sarah, Emily, Gavin, Christian, Zachary, Caylub, Elijah, Correy and Lorraine; three great-great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Allison and Isaiah; an aunt, Rachel Machado; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a son, Stephen; two brothers, Jack and Ted; and a sister, Delores.
Marion was born November 19, 1917, the daughter of Theodore J. and Ruth P. (Carney) Wienands in Renwick, Iowa. She graduated in 1935 with the last graduating class at the old Washington High School. On August 18, 1938, she married Floyd K. Morehouse in Cedar Rapids. He died May 25, 1991. Marion worked for Allen Motor Company and later as an office manager at Penick & Ford for eleven years. She was a Boy Scout Leader for her sons and a Sunday school teacher. Marion enjoyed playing cards, bowling and fishing.
