Mark E. Andrews, 50, of Center Point, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, in his home, following a (brief) illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Jordon?s Grove Cemetery, rural Central City.
Survivors include his parents, George and Irma Andrews of Central City; his children, Zachary Andrews, Jason (Emily) Andrews, all of Center Point, and Candice (Frank) Andrews-Caolo of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a sister, Diana (Jim) Cook of Ft. Worth, Texas; two brothers, Alan (Susan) Andrews of Urbana and Neil (Vicky) Andrews of Ft. Worth, Texas; a grandson, Caleb Andrews; his nephews and niece, Chace Kisling, Sarah and Aaron Andrews; and special friend, Valarie Rhinehart of Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Mark was born March 25, 1956, the son of George and Irma (Votroubek) Andrews, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Brenda James and they divorced after 24 years. For 20 years, Mark worked for the City of Center Point as Public Works Director. He then owned Woodworking by Marc and worked for H & H Construction.
A member of the Ducks Unlimited, Mark formerly was an EMT for the Center Point Fire & Ambulance and had served as Vice-President of the Center Point School Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Mark was best known for his woodworking.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Mark.
