Mark Lee Betenbender, 19, of Central City, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at his home. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by the Rev. Richard Meyers. Visitation will be from 4 ?" 8 p.m. Friday (Sept. 7) at the funeral home. Burial: Coggon Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include his parents, Gene and Sheryl (Reinburg) Betenbender of Central City; a brother, Chad (Nikki) Betenbender of Walker; and a sister, Amy Betenbender of Central City.
Also surviving are his paternal grandparents, Dale “Mick” and Lillian Betenbender of Coggon; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Reinburg of Amana; godparent and uncle, Bob Reinburg; an uncle, Bill (Pam) Reinburg of Centralia, Illinois; a nephew, Hunter Betenbender; godparents, Lee and Kathy Havlik; many cousins; and a special friend, Jessica Peyton.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Reinburg.
Mark was born the son of Gene and Sheryl (Reinburg) Betenbender on January 14, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of North Linn High School in 2006 and presently was attending Kirkwood Community College studying agri-business. He was an assistant manager at Farm Service in Quasqueton. Mark was a member of North Linn F.F.A. and Iowa Junior Beef Association.
Mark will be missed by his family and many friends.
