Mark A. Chalstrom, 53, of Marion, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Creation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at the funeral home in Marion. Burial: Oakshade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include his daughter, Katie Chalstrom; father, Don Chalstrom; sister, Linda Chalstrom; brothers, Gary (Sherri) Chalstrom, and Edward Chalstrom; nieces and nephews, Matt, Trevor, Danica, and Spencer; and step-daughter, Alyssa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgina.
Mark was born May 20, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Don and Georgina (Sorenson) Chalstrom. He graduated from Marion High School with the Class of 1979. Mark was married to Lorie Barth, they later divorced. He was then married to Angie Turnis, they were later divorced. Mark was an avid fisherman. He was a huge fan of the Hawkeyes, the Vikings, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed airplanes.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
