Marlene V. Powers, 70, of Prairieburg, died Sunday, September 19, 2004, in her home after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairieburg by Rev. Wayne Droessler. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Prairieburg. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.

Survivors include her children, Skip (Linda) Powers and Luanne (Doug) Moyer, all of Prairieburg and Scott (Jodi) Powers of Central City; a sister, Nancy (Harry) Rundle of Prairieburg; six grandchildren, Crysti, Brandy, Mindy, Ty, Riley and C.J.; and six great-grandchildren, Katelin, Chase, Tanner, Hannah, Mya and Keara.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Sal.

Marlene was born the daughter of Vernon and Myrtle Ankney Himes on April 6, 1934, in Prairieburg. She was united in marriage there to Sal Powers at St. Joseph Catholic Church on June 18, 1951. He died May 17, 2000. Marlene retired from Abbe Center for Community Care after working there for seventeen years. Marlene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
