Marlene Louise Steadman

Marlene Louise Steadman, 84, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion, Iowa. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Lafayette Cemetery in Alburnett, Iowa.

Marlene was born on September 29, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Reed) Herman. She was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Washington High School. On June 3, 1961, Marlene was united in marriage to Robert “Buck” William Steadman in Hiawatha, Iowa. Together, they had two sons. She made a home for their family and also worked at FBG, until her retirement in 2000. Marlene enjoyed trips to the casino, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marlene is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, Robert (Claudia) Steadman and Richard Steadman; grandchildren, Ahren, Christopher (Jessica), and Michael (Megan); great-grandchildren, Abigail and Annabella; brother, Charlie Herman; sister, Donna Jons; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert “Buck” Steadman.
