Marsha Jo Cossey

Marsha Jo Cossey, 67, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Private Family Services will be held and Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Marsha was born on November 21, 1958, in Estherville, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Betty (DeHahn) Nitz. She was a graduate of Tustin High School in Tustin, California. She worked in customer service for many years, until her retirement due to health complications in 2021. Marsha was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and diamond art. She was a huge reality TV buff, especially cooking shows. Most of all, spending time with her family brought her great joy. Marsha will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marsha is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Douglas Cossey of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Nicole (Timothy Wilson Jr.) Derimanoczy and Rebecca Derimanoczy (fiancé, Andrew Hughes), both of Marion, and Jessica (Travis) DeVore of Spring, Texas; stepson, Dustin Cossey of Washington; four grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Alexanne Spear, Branden Spear, and Tali DeVore; brother, David (Diane) Nitz of Tama, Iowa; and former husband, Dean Derimanoczy of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, DeAnne Nitz; and brother, Craig Nitz.
