Martin (Marty) L. Davis, 52, of Cedar Rapids, was last seen on January 3, 2010. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Ed Powers. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Erin (John) Harrington of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Corey (Tracy) Davis of Cedar Rapids, and Adam (Ellen) Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his parents, Elmer & Carol Davis of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Brian Davis of Ely, Barry (Nan) Davis of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jay (Tracy) Davis of Cedar Rapids; a special friend, Tiffany Koss of Cedar Rapids and her son, Brady; several nieces and nephews; and a grandchild due in October.

Marty was born February 17, 1957, the son of Elmer and Carol (Davison) Davis in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids in 1975. Marty married Peggy Prince and they later divorced. From this union are three children, Erin, Corey, and Adam. Marty worked for Clipper Wind Power in electrical maintenance, where he enjoyed his co-workers. He had also worked at Farmstead, and All-Tri-R at ADM.

Marty loved playing softball in his earlier years, riding his motorcycles, racing his own drag car with his brother, Brian and Laura, and playing card games every Friday night with his brothers, Brian and Jay and friends. He loved to go to wrestling meets of his brother Barry’s Wisconsin wrestling team with his father, Elmer and families. Marty loved to joke and have a hearty laugh and conversation with his mom. He enjoyed snowmobiling in Colorado and playing golf with his sons, Corey and Adam and was proud of his daughter, Erin, and her accomplishments. He also enjoyed his recent trip over Thanksgiving to Florida with Erin, John, and Corey.

Marty was a carpenter, truck driver, certified welder, journeyman electrician, body man on vehicles and jack of all trades.

Marty is known for his fun loving ways and his loyalty to his friends and family. He was a man of many trades and willingness to help others. He will be greatly missed by his family as well as his many friends.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Marty.
