Marvin J. "Mike? Klima, 82, of Center Point, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, with a Scripture service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Maudie; his children, Roberta (Malcolm) Meader, Roger Gager, Randy (Andria) Gager, Doug (Nancy) Klima, Kathy Raue, Kevin (Gwen) Klima, all of Center Point, Pam (Bill) Anderson of Urbana, Tammy (Dan) Linnabery of Atkins and Danny Klima of Walker; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Gager of Walker; 28 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Pam) Klima; and four sisters, Leona (John) Mulvaney, Kate (Bernard) Coleman, all of Coggon, Bernadine Coleman of Cedar Rapids and Gladys Woods of Center Point
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roland; and two brothers, Leo and William "Jody?.
Mike was born September 16, 1921, the son of Edward and Mary Barta Klima, in Center Point, Iowa. He served with the United States Army Air Force Corps during World War II. On May 23, 1953, Mike was united in marriage to Maudie Schiff in Kahoka, Missouri. A farmer, he worked for Iowa Manufacturing from 1957-1967 and also owned and operated M.J. Klima & Sons Tiling from 1961 until his retirement. Mike was a member of LICA, the Walker Legion Post Ray 376 and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mike "Big Daddy? enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, woodworking and was an avid collector of merchandise. He loved talking with his family and friends.
