Mary J. “Jackie” Troester, 70, of Earlville and formerly of Guttenberg, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville. Family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery.

Jackie was born May 6, 1944 the daughter of Loren and Ione Herman. She was a 1961 graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School. Jackie worked at the Ertl Company as shipping and receiving clerk for over 30 years. Jackie married Eugene “Red” Troester on September 15, 1975.

Jackie is survived by her brothers and sisters, Vincent (Betty) Herman of Earlville, Janice Klaus of Colesburg, Nancy Herman of Earlville, Larry “Dennis” Herman of Cedar Rapids, and Paulette (John) Mueller of Dubuque; brother-in-law, John Thibadeau of Manchester; sister-in-law, Carol Ann Herman of Manchester; step-children, Debbie Troester of Elkader, Virginia (Rick) Shefelbine of Garnavillo, Alan Troester of Guttenberg, Calvin (Angela) Troester of Earlville, many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Eugene “Red”; her parents; sisters, Phyllis Thibadeau, Donna Harris, Virginia Ball; brother, Rodney Herman; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Herman and Karen Herman; brothers-in-law, Dale Harris, Merlin Ball, and Evert Klaus.
