Mary Ann Yenter, 97, of Manchester, formerly of Oxford, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at University of Iowa Healthcare and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Per Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place and private family graveside will take place in the spring of 2026 at Mount Calvary Cemetery, in Oxford, Iowa. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is assisting family.

Mary was born on January 24, 1928, in Tiffin, Iowa, the daughter of Manley and Geneva (Potter) Springmire. She graduated from Oxford High School and went on to Cosmetology School to become a beautician. Mary married her high school sweetheart, Richard Yenter, on August 12, 1947, in Oxford, and the couple was blessed with three children. They made their home on a farm, where Richard worked side by side with his father for over 35 years. Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester and formerly of Oxford. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and friends, attending church, and helping others. Mary will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her children, Jane Simmons of West Branch, Iowa, Rick (Nancy) Yenter of Chipley, Florida, Jim (Pam) Yenter of Manchester; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Yenter, Brett Becker, Jennifer Davis, Jennifer Huedepohl, Jessica Hinman, Jim Yenter; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manley and Geneva Springmire; husband, Richard Yenter of 74 years; grandson, Richard Yenter; and her sister, Dorothy (George) Haman.
