Matthew A. Armstrong, 52, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday January 3, 2022, at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids after a long illness. No services are planned. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Matthew was born October 30, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Alan J. and Janet (Bell) Armstrong. He worked for Baumhoefner Nursery for six years and loved outdoor work. For fun, Matthew liked hunting, fishing, and digging for old bottles. He had a kind heart and cared for nature and animals. Matthew’s family will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his mother, Janet Armstrong Noble; aunt, Carol Butschi; and cousins, Dawn Inger, and Adam Butschi.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Armstrong; stepfather, Randall Nobel; and his many furry kids.
