Maureen Patricia Mugan

Maureen Patricia Mugan, 74, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. In agreement with Maureen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family committal services will take place at a later date in Canada. Murdoch Funeral Homes & Cremation Service in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Maureen was born on November 14, 1942, in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Vincent and Blanche (Mousseau) Westfall. She was formerly employed with St. Pius X Elementary School as a School Teacher for several years. Maureen was a loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend; she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Monica (Dan Trueman) Mugan of Princeton, New Jersey; son, Philip (Tracy) Mugan of Geneva, Illinois; grandchildren, Molly Trueman and Otto Trueman both of Princeton, New Jersey; her life partner, Mike Dean of Marion, Iowa; and a host of several siblings, nieces and nephews all of Canada.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made in Maureen’s name to Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, 315 – 18th Avenue; Hiawatha, Iowa 52233.
