Maurice "Maury? A. Fiferlick, 80, formerly of Cedar Rapids & Hiawatha, a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, died there, Monday, July 31, 2006, following a brief illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids with military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5 of Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia L. Fiferlick of Marshalltown; three children, Linda S. (Rob) Richards of Cedar Rapids, Connie L. (Rodney) Reed of Portsmith, Virginia, and Barry "Tim? Fiferlick of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mary Margaret Linn of Colorado; a brother, Stephen Fiferlick of Lehigh; grandchildren, Benjamin Knapp and Jeffery (Erin) Knapp of Virginia, Holly (Paul) Patava of Belle Plaine, Elissa Fiferlick (Jason Upah) of Cedar Rapids, Melia (Josh) Zaruba of Cedar Rapids and Blake Fiferlick of Cedar Rapids; great grandchildren, Christian Upah of Cedar Rapids and Caitlin Knapp of Virginia; and former daughter-in-law, Donna L. Fiferlick of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gerald, Dennis, and Charles; and three sisters, Adeline Laird, Agnes Curtis, and Patricia Walen.

Maurice was born March 23, 1926, the son of Albin and Mary (Williams) Fiferlick in Fort Dodge. On September 27, 1947, he married Patricia L. Wright in Fort Dodge. He served with the Navy Air Corp. during WWII. He worked as a sales manager for Frito Lay. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids and American Legion Hanford Post No. 5 of Cedar Rapids.

Maury always had a joke or story to share, and told them again and again. He loved watching sports, especially NASCAR. He truly loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Veteran?s Home Hospice Fund in Marshalltown.
