Maurice Wilkins, 49, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on March 19, 2026.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and carried the strength and spirit of his roots throughout his life.
Maurice is survived by his loving wife, Talika Wilkins; his sons, Deonte, Raheem, TreyVontez, and TaZareyon; and his daughter, TashaKayla. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Wilkins, and his father, Donald Byrd Jr. He leaves behind three granddaughters and one grandson who will carry on his legacy.
He is further survived by his sisters, Carla (Lenny), Laquita, and Erica; and his brother, Donny.
Maurice will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his family, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Maurice Wilkins is being cared for by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
