Melvin LeRoy Chesmore, 56, of Rowley, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at home following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point by Rev. Ted Nunemaker. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include his children, Jeanie F. Moreland and husband Norman of Quasqueton, Norman L. Chesmore and wife Linda of Rowley, Lisa M. Ebel and husband Robert of Rowley, Michelle R. Hogan and husband Mike of Iowa City, Kent Chesmore and wife Danielle of Troy Mills and Jason Chesmore and wife Heidi of Vinton; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Coty, Shane, Austin, Shayla, Ashley, Mary, Brett, Mary Ann, Gabrielle, Bridgette, Joshua, Lindsey, Audrey, Hannah, Jessica, Korrey, Mckenna, Tassie and Carlie; a great-grandchild, Jenna; and a brother, Everette Chesmore of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman L. Chesmore.
Melvin was born February 5, 1948, the son of Golden E. and Doralee E. (Thomas) Chesmore, in Urbana. He worked at Wilson Foods for many years and then for Railroad Services in the maintenance department.
A memorial fund has been established in Melvin?s memory.
