Michael Joseph Bender

Michael Bender, 49, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, of a sudden illness. Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Bender; his mother, Joyce Adam and stepdad, Joe Adam; one daughter, Alisha and Jerome Weiss, Michigan; three stepsons, Bill and Tina Stegen, Marc and Amber Stegen both of Iowa and Mike and Amber Stegen of Texas; three sisters, Laura Hard, Debbie and Brad Rocorek, and Donna and Paul Reau, of Wisconsin; three nieces, Michele, Melissa and Rachel; three nephews, Nathan, Ricky and Andrew; seven grandchildren; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and his loving cat, Hairy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bender, and mother-in-law, Bonnie Harden.
Michael served in the Air Force and was employed by EIC Construction.
