Michael "Mike" Donaldson

Michael “Mike” Donaldson, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away at home from a sudden illness on April 17, 2026. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.

Mike was born April 22, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Guy and Barbara Donaldson. He graduated from Simpson College in 1970. On January 4, 1997, Mike was united in marriage to Kerry Danford at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. He worked for DEX Media Yellow Pages, Floor Covering Sales and C.R. Coffee, retiring in April of 2024.

Mike loved trout fishing and camping with his family. He took pride in his appearance and was very proud of the cars he owned over the years. Mike enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family at Leonardo’s Restaurant and spending time with his devoted dog, Scout. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Kerry Donaldson; children, Lance (Jen) Donaldson, Brandon (Sam) Donaldson and Brent Danford; grandchildren, Chase, Charley and Levi Donaldson; sister, Sandy (David) Law; nephew, Drew (Patty) Law; great-nephew, Cal Law; and his beloved dog, Scout.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Donaldson.
