Mildred M. Daugherty, 78, of 101 S 11th Street, Marion, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Crestview Acres, Marion of cancer. Services: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., prior to the service. Burial at a later date at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Connie Moyer and husband Ken of Cedar Rapids, Cheryl Hipp and husband Michael of Dana, North Carolina, Cathy Koeppen and husband Eric of Marion, Iowa, and Debbie Smith and husband Jim of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sisters, JoAnn McClurg of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Verla Nelson of Ottumwa, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Evelyn Carlson; and a brother, Marvin Barker.
Mildred was born February 13, 1926, in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph A. and Eva Mae (Birchmier) Barker. She married Donald D. Daughtery, on August 10, 1946, Ottumwa, Iowa. He died August 28, 1987. Mildred was a homemaker and loved to watch QVC. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Mildred.
