Mildred Lucille Randall, 90, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Springville Presbyterian Church by Rev. Karen Downey Beals. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include two sons, Philip Randall and wife Karen of Martelle and Gregory Randall and wife Brenda of Springville; four grandchildren, Rebecca Barnes and husband Willis of Land O’Lakes, Florida, Russell Randall of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Jennifer Jo and husband Tyler Wilkening of Ankeny and Alicia Marie Randall of Abilene, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Brent, Nina, and Sarah; a stepgranddaughter, Katie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are a sister, Faye Port of Lake Havasau, Arizona; and two brothers, Fern (Berniece) Anthes of Marion and Oscar (Lucia) Anthes of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan; and a sister, Velda Callen.
Mildred was born January 4, 1918, at Audubon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Oscar and Sarah (Clark) Anthes. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1935 and attended Coe College. On July 25, 1937, she was united in marriage to Ivan E. Randall at Marion. Mildred and Ivan farmed most of their married life except for the ten years they owned and operated a locker plant and grocery store in Whittier, Iowa. Mildred was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mildred’s memory.
