Milton Andrew Palmer, 84, of Central City, Iowa, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Thursday, December 19, 2013. Private Graveside Services will be held at Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City. Arrangements with Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City.
Milton was born November 30, 1929, the son of Andrew and Adaline (Pike) Palmer in Central City, Iowa. Milton attended the Central City Community School. In 1951, he was called to serve his country as a communication operator in the United States Army.
In 1954, he married Nellie Priebe Palmer, his friend and soul mate. To this union three children were born, Mark (Marge) Palmer, Norene Fuller and Korene (Ben) Kelchen. Milton and Nellie have five grandchildren, Angela, Amy, Andy, Toni and Kurt and seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Kayla, Cooper, Jayden, Joel and Kruze. He is also survived by a brother, Boyd ((Leanna) Palmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Harry Fuller.
Milton was employed by the Central City Telephone Company for 10 years and the Linn County Conservation for 23 years, retiring in November, 1992. He devoted his time to gardens, fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed feeding the birds and wildlife around him.
Milton had a great love and devotion for his family and he will be greatly missed by them all.
