Monica Rae Prescott
October 30, 1943 — March 10, 2004
Monica Rae Prescott, 60, of 265 Pheasant Avenue, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Paul Scheidt. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion. Private burial services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery prior to the service on Monday.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald; daughter, Susan (Mark) Heffernen of Cedar Rapids and their children Zach, Jacob, Ashley and Paige and daughter, Tammy (Tim) Golay of Cedar Rapids and their son, Nathaniel.
Also surviving are her mother, Lois Sanders; three uncles, Wayne, Mark and Robert Taylor and an aunt, Iris Mohr. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vera and Ralph Taylor.
Monica was born on October 30, 1943, in Rock Island, Illinois. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1962. On February 13, 1971, in Rock Island, she was united in marriage to Ronald Prescott. Monica and her husband have resided in Marion for the past eight years and prior to that, five years in Sumner and thirteen years in Manchester.
Monica was very active in educational, youth and music programs at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Manchester.
Monica touched many lives despite her physical limitations. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
A memorial fund has been established in Monica?s memory.
