Myrtle Cecilia Tisdale, 80, a resident of Winslow House Care Center, Marion, died Thursday, September 30, 2004, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after an extended illness. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Cedar Hills Community Church, 4980 Gordon Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Kent Landhuis. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda McAllister and husband Ben of Ely; two grandchildren, Edward Street and wife Mandie of Cedar Rapids and Kim Street of Ely; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Cecilia Street and Abigail Rebecca Street.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Myrtle was born the daughter of Morse and Nellie Quigley on January 12, 1924, in Rosebud, South Dakota. She married James Tisdale in Albuquerque, New Mexico. James died in December 1968. Myrtle enjoyed caring for others and had worked as a personal home caregiver. For many years, she lived in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, before moving to Iowa to live with her daughter and family. She had been living the last four years at Winslow House Care Center, where she made many friends.
