Nancy A. Porter

Nancy A. Porter, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 17, 2025. In accordance with her wishes, no public services will be held. A private family entombment will take place at Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.

Nancy was born August 15, 1949, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Dellie (Dittmar) Meyer. She graduated from Prairie High School with the Class of 1967. Nancy married Richard “Coach” Allen Porter, Sr., on August 2, 1967, in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Over the years, she worked for Square D and at the Stouffer’s Five Seasons Hotel, now known as the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

Survivors include her children, Sara (Richard) Porter Land and Richard “Buddy” A. (Mark) Porter Jr. all of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, TJ, Courtney (Eric) Meyers, Miranda, Jennifer, Brittany, and Kaleb; and three great-grandchildren, Grace, Ellie, and Maverick.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
