Norman “Luke” Andrew Seeley, 95, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Pinicon Senior Living in Anamosa. A private family service will be held. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Luke was born on Sept. 18, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, the only child of Edith Seeley and Lloyd Williamson. He was raised primarily by his grandmother, Mary Alice Seeley, who instilled in him the value of being a good person, something he carried with him for all of his life. At 17, he joined the Army and fought in the Korean War, something he was proud of. When he returned, he met and married Darlene Jean Shaw. Together they raised five children.
Luke worked for many years with Hayden Produce and then for the city of Anamosa in the wastewater facility until his retirement.
Luke was a man who loved life even through difficult times, was available to help when you needed it, and had a great sense of humor. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his five children, Tom (Terrie) of Denton, Texas, Joe (Hanna) of Amber, Iowa, Sharon (Mike Theisen) of Lake Benton, Minnesota, Bill (Kris) of Anamosa, Iowa, and Dan (Brenda) of Anamosa, Iowa; plus, a large quiver of grandkids and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; sister, Shirley Biggart; and grandson, Joel Theisen.
We love you, Dad.
