Patricia "Patty" Anne Nielsen

Patricia “Patty” Anne Nielsen, 83, of Solon, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, where the family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until the service time. Certified Celebrant, Amy Hart, will officiate. A Private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mt. Clark Cemetery in Central City, Iowa.

Patricia was born on July 27, 1942, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Archie Dee and Martha Jeanne (Durall) Adkins. She was a 1960 graduate of Fort Madison High School. Pat was united in marriage to Marion “Mac” Mosley, and to this union, two children were born, Ray and Kim. They later divorced. Pat later married Dick Nielsen and he preceded her in death. Pat married Jerry Carr who also preceded her in death.

For many years, Pat was employed with Linn County Conservation, until her retirement. She enjoyed many outdoor activities including playing golf, camping, fishing, and could often be found with an ice-cold Coors in her hand. Pat especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pat is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Ray (Theresa) Meeks-Mosley of Iowa City, Iowa, and Kim Kriz (Tom Maynard) of Solon; nine grandchildren, Amanda Mosley (Matt) of Iowa City, Amber Mosley (Matt) of Nauvoo, Illinois, Katie Mosley (Andrew) of Iowa City, Maddie Huls (Cody) of Basco, Illinois, Hanna Mosley (Alex) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Haley Mosley of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nico Meeks-Mosley of Iowa City, Cody Mosley (Jonas) of Federal Way, Washington, and Kaylee Walker of Solon; eight great-grandchildren, Dakota, Elmer, Alina, Bear, Lana, Tay, Lennox, and Lincoln; and one cousin, William “Bill” (Maureen) Durall of Pittsfield, Illinois.

In addition, to her second and third husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy Etoll; and a dear cousin, Charlene Miller.
