Pauline Helen Lutz, age 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010, at the Winslow House Care Center in Marion, Iowa. Pauline was born on January 31, 1922 in Calais, Maine.
She married Harry Lutz on April 28, 1945 in Washington, D.C., within a year after their meeting at a USO Dance. She served as a secretary to the Corps of Engineers through the war's end. Pauline accompanied Harry back to Cedar Rapids in 1945, where she made her life as a housewife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Harry W. Lutz, and her two sons, Robert A. Lutz and Thomas E. Lutz. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and her younger sister, Marion Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, Iowa. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the Murdoch facilities. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.
Family members wish to thank Winslow House and Mercy Hospice staff members for the care given to Pauline during her final months.
