Pauline Elizabeth Olinger, 105, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Pauline was born on June 22, 1920, in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Frances (Batchelder) Taylor. She was a graduate of Marion High School and went on to attend Cedar Rapids Business College, where she earned her business-oriented degree. Pauline met the love of her life, Glenn Everett Olinger, and they were married at Marion Christian Church on August 5, 1941. They raised their three children together and farmed in Springville, Martelle, Central City, and Alburnett. Pauline was a dedicated mother and worked for LaPlant Choate as a secretary for many years and also as a bookkeeper at Nash Finch for 15 years, before her retirement.

Pauline loved to be involved with her community and was a member of many organizations including the Alburnett Garden Club, the Alburnett Historical Society, and attended various community concerts. Pauline was a faithful and active church member at the Prairie Chapel Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, taking bus vacations across America, reading cards from people, Christmas family gatherings, and was an avid Iowa State fan. Pauline continued her mother’s tradition of keeping beautiful diaries throughout her life. She even got her first computer at the age of 92.

Pauline was known for her cooking, often enjoying family meals around the table. First and foremost, her husband and family were the most important things in her life. Pauline lived a full life and was able to remain in the home they built in 1974, up until her death. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pauline is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Bob (Judy) Olinger, Susan (Richard) Housman, and Barbara (Joe) Trumm; eight grandchildren, Andrea (Nathan) Kolbet, Kristi (Bob) Garfinkle, Gina (Joe) Hope, Dr. Chad (Dr. Catherine) Olinger, Stacy (Christopher) Hiller, Ehren (Abby) Housman, Sarah (Jeff) Pick, and Carley Trumm; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 70 years, Glenn Olinger.
