Pauline Josephine Sikes, 96, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, died there Tuesday, August 28, 2007, following a sudden illness. There will be no visitation or services. Inurnment will be at a later date at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Bettie Sikes Hanson of Marion; her granddaughter, Paula Poynter of Houston, Texas; step-grandchildren, James (Patricia) Roberts of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Norman (Katie) Roberts of Ottawa, Kansas, and Susan (Robert) Van Horn of Cedar Rapids; great-grandchildren, Bryan Roberts, Aimee (Michael) Widmeyer, Megan (Steve) Wright, Aaron (Jennifer) Roberts, and Hannah (Ben) Beauchamp; and five great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert B. Sikes; her son, Russell F. Stewart; and ten siblings.
Pauline was born September 29, 1910, in Segwich County, Kansas. She married Foster Stewart in 1926, they later divorced. She then married Hubert B. Sikes on November 17, 1951, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He died April 21, 1992. Pauline had worked as an office manager for a dermatologist in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was manager of the Credit Union for Sinclair Oil Co. in Tulsa.
