Phillip G. Yeisley

Phillip G. Yeisley, 66, of Marion, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, rural Marion, by Rev. H. Burr Bryant. The family will greet friends 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Burial: Prairie Chapel Cemetery, rural Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carol; his mother, Elizabeth Yeisley of Springville; his children, Teresa (Corey) Seibert of Urbana, Diana (Terry Smith) Yeisley of Marion, and Jeff (Jamie) Yeisley of Marion; 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie, and Michael Seibert, Chris Christensen, Dustin and Samantha Smith, and Brandon, Brittney, Caelee, and Codie Yeisley; five brothers, Paul Yeisley of Anamosa, Jim (Helen) Yeisley of Springville, Orland Yeisley of Springville, Merven (Opal) Yeisley of Cedar Rapids, and Steve (Deb) Yeisley of Springville; brother-in-law, Gene (Lois) Novak, and sister-in-law, Joyce (Bob) Hay, all of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Phillip was born October 28, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ivan and Elizabeth (Holubar) Yeisley. He married Carol M. Novak July 28, 1961 at Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church. Phillip worked at Farmstead for 29 years, and recently retired after 19 years from Schumacher Elevator. He was well known to have loved the work he did and the friends he made as he worked. Phillip was a member of Elevator Constructor’s Union Local #33 of Cedar Rapids, and Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to thank the many friends Phillip had through the Elevator Constructor’s Union for all of the kind and gracious help and support they have given. It was greatly appreciated and will not soon be forgotten.
A memorial fund has been established in Phillips’ memory.
