Priscilla "Perk? D. Techau, 80, of Center Point, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, of injuries from an auto accident north of Toddville. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Jerry) De Penning of Marion, Robert (Ann) Techau of Hiawatha, and Michael (Julie) Techau of Center Point; five grandchildren, Brett Techau, Jeremy De Penning and fiancé Nicole Jones and Jody De Penning, and Sara and Rachel Techau; a brother, Pat (Dorothy) McNiel of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert.
Perk was born August 15, 1925, the daughter of George and Thelma (McCalley) McNiel, in rural Linn County, Iowa. On August 22, 1942, she was united in marriage to Robert Techau in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died January 17, 1995. For 32 years, Perk worked for Collins Radio as an assembler. She was a member of the Center Point American Legion Auxiliary, Center Point Garden Club and was a former member of the Eastern Star. Perk enjoyed going dancing and loved spending time at the cabin and boating at Delhi. A very kind person, she loved being with her many friends and family. Perk never had a negative word to say about anyone.
