Ray K. Mrstik, 76, of 1716 20th St., NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has gone to be with his maker, November 28, 2008, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplin Jeremy Hudson, with military honors. Visitation: 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, December 1, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; daughters, Linda Wetzel (Duane) of Metropolis, Illinois, and Diana Mrstik (friend Matt) of Cedar Rapids; sons, Kenneth of Garrison, Iowa, David (Debra) of Avondale, Arizona, Jerry of Cedar Rapids, and Neal (Lisa) of Arlington Heights, Illinois, sisters, Betty Heeren of Marion and Emma McMullen (Richard) of Cedar Rapids; brothers, twin Roy (Dorothy) of Cedar Rapids and Robert (Joan) of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Ray was the son of John and Ruth Mrstik. He served in the Air Force and worked for several manufacturing companies in the area. He enjoyed doing woodcraft for his children, grandchildren and others. Ray also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, Ray’s preference was for donations to be made to St Luke's Hospice.
