Raymond F. Wells, 88, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids, died there Wednesday, January 14, 2009 following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Blue Jay Drive in Cedar Rapids by Bishop Michael Perry. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16 at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion. Private burial will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include three children: Gary Wells of Dallas, Texas, Katrina Freed of Wilmington, Delaware, and Larry Wells of Hiawatha; a brother, Marvin Wells of Eagle Grove; and a sister, Betty Leaf of Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian and an infant daughter, Sherry.
