Richard A. Mumm, Sr.
June 16, 1941 — February 16, 2008
Richard A. Mumm, Sr., 66, of 61 Devonwood Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, in his home, following a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by Pastor Glenn High of Shellsburg Grace Trinity Church. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Pilot Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg.
Survivors include his children, Richard (Michele) Mumm, Jr. of Walford and Todd (Deanne) Mumm of Parnell; six grandchildren, Avery, McKenna, Bryson, and Braden Mumm, Amanda and Katie Glandorf; two brothers, Larry (Judy) Mumm of Shellsburg and Floyd (Bev) Mumm of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Bonnie Mumm of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard was born June 16, 1941, the son of Vermillon and Helen (Furman) Mumm in Williamsburg, Iowa. A 1959 Marion High School graduate, he worked for Goss Graphics, retiring after 36 years of service. Richard enjoyed racing, football, especially the Packers and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He also enjoyed his pool, cooking, entertaining and loved spending time with his family and friends. Richard was a member of the Local 831 Machinist Union.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Richard.
