Richard G. Wenger, 75, of Manchester, died Wednesday morning, March 10, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Roger B. Henry. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 today (Friday) at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. Burial at Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, with military rites by the Manchester American Legion Post 45.

Richard was born the son of Harry E. and Ethel (Robinson) Wenger on January 21, 1929 on the family farm in Adam Township, Delaware County, Iowa. He graduated from Coggon High School and attended the University of Dubuque. Richard served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 13, 1953, at the United Methodist Church in Manchester, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Vifian. For thirty-five years, Richard had a milk route collecting milk from area farmers.

Richard was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manchester and American Legion Post 45. While his son was growing up, he was very active in the Boy Scouts. Richard golfed and was an avid bowler for many years. He enjoyed sports, especially watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Richard also enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife and friends, Bob and Barb Christensen.

Richard is survived by his wife Marilyn; a daughter, Lisa (Mark) Lusk of Highlands Ranch, CO, and their daughter Graci Ann; a son, Marc Wenger of Harvest, AL, and his children, Jeremy R. Wenger, Anna L. Wenger and Bennett M. Wenger and a brother, Dean (Pat) Wenger of Masonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
